All startups are exciting. NRDS is more exciting than most. Starting where Natural Language Processing has stopped to date, the NRDS staff’s novel thinking has resulted in innovative developments including its Latent Semantic Analysis Engine in which machine learning combined with semantics produces insight with a rapidity comparable to that of the human brain.

The NRDS Engine is a true advance in a discipline whose practitioners have traditionally promised more than they can deliver. NRDS doesn’t do that but because its people are unusually creative, it has made something novel and deliverable. It has made a NRDS Engine that lives up to its promise.

All key members of the NRDS team and participants are equally convinced that this technology works - they bring experience delivering novel solutions to IT communities, creating and implementing strategic methodologies designed for 21st century needs as well as executive, managerial and sales expertise to the enterprise.

NRDS is a truly international organization whose key team members are located in London (UK), Bratislava (Slovakia), Skopje (Macedonia) and Galway (Ireland). They are a prime example of what is possible in the wired world of the 21st century where skills and expertise make physical location irrelevant.

The Technology Founders

Jan Paricka, Founder and CTO

Mr. Paricka has worked on substantial performance and solutions projects for a wide variety of industrial and government organizations. He has extensive experience with complex programming, network design and implementation, databases and middleware and has used a wide range of platform technologies.

He has applied his skills at companies such as Fidelity Investments, ABN Amro Bankiers, Rabobank, Van Lanschot Bankiers, ING Bank, Ministry of VWS.

Jan Oravec, Co-Founder

Mr. Oravec first became interested in natural language processing and machine learning in 1998 when he created an intelligent IRC robot. Working both on his own and with colleagues, he has continued to focus on finding ways to apply intelligence to real world needs. Ultimately, this resulted in the development of the NRDS Datacube which understands content rather than merely sorting it.

In addition to his cutting edge work with NRDS, Mr. Oravec creates complex applications that rely on more conventional technologies for government and private industry located throughout Central Europe.

He has presented papers on artificial intelligence at international conferences and has received medals in numerous international algorithm competitions in Europe, the United States and Asia; among these are Google Code Jams and the TopCoder Open. In addition to his AI expertise, he has considerable networking experience including a Ph.D. dissertation project involving the design of providerless mobile networks.

Jozef Tvarozek

Jozef Tvarozek, M.Sc., has specialized in the study of artificial intelligence and parallel and distributed algorithms. He has applied this expertise to the development NRDS Datacube; algorithm design is a particular interest of his. Mr. Tvarozek has taught courses on robust and efficient algorithms. In addition, he has engaged in cellular phone application development as well as the creation of web based systems. At present, Mr. Tvarozek is working on a Ph.D.

Andrej Cukan

Mr. Cukan, M.Sc., NRDS Performance Analyst, is experienced in designing ultra-robust transactional systems (Facebook alike) across numerous Cloud platforms. Andrej offered his system expertize on a wide variety of NRDS technologies and Web site applications.

Lukas Polacek

Mr. Polacek has specialized in the study of artificial intelligence and parallel and distributed algorithms. He has applied this expertise to the development NRDS Datacube; algorithm design is a particular interest of his.

In addition, Mr. Polacek has been the recipient of numerous top awards in international programming competitions such as Google Code Jam, Top Coder Open and International Olympiad in Informatics.
